ATLANTA, GA, MARCH 22, 2023 – Jewish Interest-Free Loan of Atlanta (JIFLA) is pleased to announce new board of directors and leadership positions.

New Board Chair Danny Frank’s involvement with JIFLA is extensive. He joined JIFLA’s loan committee in 2019 and has served as the loan committee co-chair since 2021. As a loan guarantor and organization supporter, Danny is both familiar and sensitive to JIFLA’s mission and well positioned to take on the role of board chair. “Laura has been a very strong leader for so many years and she has led JIFLA from its early years into its formal development as a major Atlanta organization that it is today. I look forward to working closely with her and with our Executive Director Nancy Weissmann, the rest of the JIFLA staff, and our strong leadership in order to carry the JIFLA mission forward in Atlanta and beyond.”
Outgoing president Laura Kahn is committed to continuing her deep involvement with JIFLA. “Danny is just the right person to lead JIFLA to its next phase, and I am so excited to turn the reigns over to him. Danny has been co-chair of our Loan Committee for the last several years, developing a deep understanding of the heart of JIFLA – making loans that change borrowers’ lives. Danny is a smart, kind, thoughtful person who is deeply committed to our mission. I look forward to staying involved with JIFLA and to watching it thrive under Danny’s leadership.”
Additional Board Updates
Merrie Edelston will remain in her position as Loan Committee Co-Chair. and welcomes new Loan Committee Co-Chair Jonny Newburgh. Jonny has been an active member of JIFLA’s loan committee since 2020.
Community Engagement Chair Adrienne Litt-Bishko has been a JIFLA board member since 2019. Her role as JIFLA co-president and a former synagogue executive director have her well positioned to expand JIFLA’s volunteer, community engagement and Liaison Partnership programs.
We welcome our new and returning 2023 Board of Directors and thank outgoing board member Lisa Marks for her years of dedication and service to JIFLA.
